How Film Editing Shapes the Emotion of a Scene More Than the Film Script Itself

  Film Editing is more than merely joining shots, it's what gives films their emotional pulse. The editor gives a film its life, breath, and pulse, whereas a Film Script supplies the framework. The written text provides guidance in Film Production , but the audience is affected by the time, tempo, and cut. For this reason, a lot of seasoned Film Artists think that a scene's actual emotion is edited rather than written. It should come as no surprise, then, that Film Festivals around the world are now recognizing the genius of editors in addition to directors and actors. Even when a Screenwriter has written a tense exchange between two characters, the pacing of that scene determines how intense it is.
